Background

The average lifespan of people is rising – mainly due to advances in healthcare – and many 60-year olds can expect a further 25 years of healthy life.

As we age our bodies go through a number of changes which are determined by a range of factors including genetic predisposition, environmental factors, diet, exposure to micro-organisms, pollutants and ionising radiation.

These factors mean our biological (or metabolic age) can be significantly different to our chronological age, this is why people of the same age vary both in physical appearance and physiology.

We seek products or technologies to help recognize the signals of ageing, to help consumers recognize age related health issues early and help prevent or manage their symptoms or causes.
